5. Operations

5.1 Before you use
For the first time using Tour Mate, please charge the battery fully. Take the USB cable, connect it to the power jack, and then connect another side to PC, Laptop or car cigarette adaptor. This will begin to charge the battery. Charging time is 3 hours typically. A fully charged battery can last for approx 14 hours continuously.

5.2 Start to use
Turn on Tour Mate with switch into either LF or DL mode. Once Tour Mate power is turned on the GPS’s automatic search/positioning process will begin. The GPS (Green) LED will start to flash once every second if it is calibrated and in operation.
NOTE:
Tour Mate is only workable outdoors.
A-1 Switch to LF mode for starting Location Finder

1. Set a set-point:
(i) Confirm GPS indicator is flashing. Current location would be stored after 2-second press on the setup button. Once set-point has been successfully established, all 8 arrow direction lights would sequentially flash once. After set-point has been established, Tour Mate is ready to be switched into DL or OFF mode. A new LF storing process would override the old set-point with the new set-point.
(ii) Using software to pre-set set-point from PC or notebook.
Note: Only DL enables data log.

2. Search for set-point:
(i) Once set-point has been established with LF function, direction arrow would light steadily, pointing to the set-point direction continuously. Switch into DL mode, one of the 8 direction arrow light would continue to light steadily towards the set-point position.
(ii) When approach to set-point within 50M of distance, direction arrow light would flash once every second guiding you to your set-point.
(iii) When approach to set-point within 15M of distance, direction arrow would light steadily guiding you to your set-point.

The switch arrow must point to LF to set the set-point.
A-2 Set up a set-point
Make sure the GPS (Green) LED is flashing.
NOTE: The power Jack side must face the user and the power switch side
must be toward the direction the user head to.
Press the setting button for 2 seconds, and then all direction (Red) LEDs will light up together for 3 seconds.

The Set-point (Blue) LED lights up after all direction (Red) LEDs have lighted up, which indicates the position has been saved. Then, the device can be turned off or switch to DL mode.

B-1 Switch to DL mode for logging tracks

The switch arrow must point to DL.

As long as the GPS (Green) LED flashes, Tour Mate is logging tracks.
